2005-07-08 Well, I'm now moved into a very pleasant house in East Cambridge, the housemates are friendly, there's a park down the road, a common down two roads, shops round the corner and it seems to be sunny all the time. So far I'm liking Cambridge. But I haven't quite left Cheltenham, there's one more car load of things to drag over the country, and one more excuse to head out for a bit of fun in the throbbing town. On Tuesday we attempted this, but discovered that absolutely nothing happens then. I'm not certain, but it's likely that I've never sampled a Cheltenham Tuesday night before, so at least I have now. Fridays are better, though, so it looks like a good final night is in order. On my journeys from here to there, or back again, I passed by signs pointing off to Stowe Landscape Gardens. As I was running early on my way down today, I decided to be tempted in, partly because some of the people I met at Fountains had raved about it, but also to make some use of my free entry. Stowe, it turns out, is a place set up to be pretty. It's quite impossible to walk around it with a camera with the lens cap on. The moment you click it into place you'll notice yet another enticing vista. The product, of course, of the Rich wanting a walk that reminded them of their holidays or the Grand Masters hanging in their halls. Well worth a long visit.
