This is probably the best Indian restaurant in Oxford. There's a large vegetarian selection, and the quality is very good. I particularly like the Sarso Baigan (aubergine with mustard seed).
It can be hard to get a table here — best to either come very early, or book in advance. The service isn't bad at all — the waiters make sure to ask occasionally whether you want more drinks, but they don't fuss too much. I was a little surprised by one of the waiters who didn't seem to understand that Basmati is a type of rice.
