Angharad and Tristam's wedding

Directions

Directions to the Ceremony

Keble College is in the centre of Oxford on Parks Road so parking is rather difficult.

This map from Oxford's dailyinfo website can be printed out and shows the city centre in detail. A little arrow indicates the entrance into Keble college opposite the university museum. Footpaths are dotted lines; note that there is no direct vehicle access from Keble Rd onto Banbury Rd. NB. If the map link above doesn't work in your browser then a larger version (1.9M so slow to download over a modem) of the map can be found here. Or you can try the University's map here with restricted access roads marked in pink.

The University's schematic map of the ring road here and dailyinfo's map of major roads here show how the city centre links up with the rest of the world (the reception is then south on the A34).

There are some pay and display places on the roads around the back of Keble (Keble Road, Blackhall Road, Museum Road) which will cost £3 for up to 3 hours (and no longer!). There is also parking on St Giles for £3 for up to 2 hours. The ceremony should take about an hour and then there will be some photos so 2 hours parking will be sufficient. From St. Giles there is a shortcut to walk to Keble by taking the Lamb and Flag passage to the right of the Lamb and Flag pub (indicated on the map with a dotted line next to a beer glass!) which comes out on Museum road to the side of Keble. A disabled parking badge will allow you to park in pay and display spaces for free and there are a few additional designated spaces on Keble Road and around the centre. There are some larger car parks in the city centre which will let you park for longer. Further out from the centre going north and then turning off Banbury Rd and Woodstock Rd there are some free places dotted amongst residential spaces but be prepared for a walk!

There are several Park&Ride car parks around the ring road with regular buses into the centre. The Water Eaton Park&Ride buses stop at the bottom of Banbury Rd opposite Keble Rd; the Redbridge Park&Ride buses stop on Magdalen St at the bottom of St Giles; the Peartree Park&Ride buses stop on Woodstock Rd next to the Radcliffe Infirmary; the Seacourt and Thornhill buses stop on High St which is further to walk to Keble than the other bus stops. Consequently, if you are travelling by Park&Ride we would recommend using either the Water Eaton, Pear Tree or Redbridge car parks. The Redbridge Park&Ride is at the correct side of the ring road to continue on to the barn but it doesn't take that long to travel round the ring road from Pear Tree or Water Eaton.

Directions to the reception

The reception is being held at Lains Barn near Wantage. It takes about half an hour to drive from Oxford to the barn. From Oxford take the A34 south (signed towards Newbury). Leave the A34 at the Milton interchange (signed to Milton Park and A4130 to Wantage). Take the A4130 to Wantage (3rd exit from the roundabout). Continue on this road for one mile until you come to a roundabout when you turn right onto the A417 to Wantage. This road will take you through East Hendred, then West Hendred. After West Hendred turn right at the second crossroads which is signed to Lains Barn. It's about three miles from the roundabout to the Lains Barn turning. If you reach Wantage you've gone too far! Lains Barn is 500yds down the lane on the right.

See an OS map on multimap here or the barn's own map here.
