The dishes mentioned below are not always on the menu; but theoretically there's always a vegan choice. Your options may be limited towards the end of the day - sometimes the only vegan thing left is salad. The vegan dishes are marked with `Vg' on the menu.

The Nut Roast comes with a choice of two out of three salads. The price I copied down off the menu later was £4·25, but I'm sure I only paid between £3 and £4. This was very tasty and came with a delicious tomato sauce (the sauce is vegan, and is available with other dishes as well).

Fellow vegan Hannah had a Baked Potato with Hummous, which she enjoyed. The Baked Potatoes are usually available, but they may have run out by the end of the opening hours. Two salads are included in the price.

Lentil Curry (£3·95) is served with Rice and Mango Chutney, and possibly a Poppadom, though I didn't get offered one last time I had it. There's not much curry compared to rice; but it's tasty, with tomatoes and plenty of fresh coriander.

Green Lentil Rissole (£2) is vegan, and there may also be some kind of Spinach Pie. Another option would be to have salad only.

The salad choice could be between a fresh spinach salad, a mixed lettuce salad, and a mung bean sprout salad. The spinach salad is lovely and the mung bean one is filling, but a bit weird-tasting. Another time, I chose a couscous salad (rather bland, and too oily) and a green bean and tomato salad (flavourful and good texture). The other salad option that day was not vegan.

Glasses of tap water are provided free with your meal; fruit juice and other soft drinks are also available. I think newspapers are also provided.

Oxford Vegetarians hold a regular gathering here, on the 4th Thursday of the month, 6:30 - 8:30.
