The coffee here is absolutely superb, rich without being over-roasted or bitter, and comes in lovely thick white cups at £1.30 or £1.50. They also have Twining's Iced Tea in cartons for £1.50 and “freshly-squeezed” orange juice (in bottles) for £1.75.

This is a nice place to have breakfast. It's in the Covered Market, so is nice and central, and opens at the sensible time of 8am. The walls are painted a cheerful yellow and have little sayings and pictures painted all over them.

Vegan choices include grilled ciabatta with roast veg (ask them to leave out mozzarella) served with plain Pringles (ask them to leave off coleslaw) at £4.95. You can also get two pieces of toast (they have wholemeal) or one bagel with Marmite (as long as you can cope with Marmite and no margarine) for £1.65. They have guacamole available for their nachos, but I haven't asked whether it's vegan or whether they can serve it separately.
