The Glade is back for 2006! It’s happening over the weekend of the 14^th-16^th July…

This is only being sent out to people who bought tickets for the Glade Festival last year as we wanted to offer tickets for sale to you before the full Glade mailing list has access…

For various reasons, to do with us wanting to preserve the special nature of the event, we’re making as little noise about the festival as we feel we can in order to sell the tickets to the same great people that we sold them to last year… and of course their mates.

We will be publishing the website on Wednesday, 15^th March at 6pm and the store will be open for ticket sales the following evening.

However for 24 hours from Monday night (13^th March) at 10pm we will be opening the online store so that you can get your tickets early… www.gtickets.co.uk/gladefestival is the place to go for them.

The ticket price is a fair amount more than last year, but this is because we’ve really had to address some issues that appeared last year. There were some thefts, caused by people who’d broken in to the event and as a result we’ve had to completely review the security and stewarding arrangements. We are spending a great deal more money on making the perimeter secure through the use of steel shield fencing and a majorly increased, higher quality security presence….. Don’t worry, they won’t be in the arena any more than usual, just on patrol outside the fence.

Once again we will have no corporate sponsorship at the festival and due to the extra costs the ticket price has had to be increased. All the ticket money gets spent on the festival and we have also increased our creative budgets dramatically.

Tickets are £98.50 plus booking fees and P&P.

and the Brand new Glade DVD/CD is £12.95 plus P&P if bought with tickets (£16.95 otherwise)

Anyway, onto lighter things…

We’ve changed the venue and this year the music, décor, performance and general shenanigans will once again be top quality.

We are planning to not release the lineups; we hope by now you trust us when we say that this year is going to be better across every genre. The crowd in the first two years has been amazing and the vibe killer. We believe by not publicising the Glade in the traditional way we can preserve this. The lineup we’ve got booked for this year will generate a lot of publicity…..so we’re keeping it quiet.

There are again 9 stages. Same as last year, except the Golden Syrup has been replaced by a new stage along the same lines… 'The Rabbit Hole' is its name and is again an open mic acoustic jam tent which promises ad hoc, live musical happenings...

Then there's the Glade DVD/CD... Two years in the making and featuring footage of both 2004 and 2005 the DVD comes with a bonus CD.. A 70 minute stumble round the Glade, encompassing all the genres and mixed in Ableton Live. The DVD/CD is a limited edition and you can pre-order it now. It'll be sent out in mid April... It's not on general release until after the festival...

All in all, we’re well excited with what we’ve got planned for the festival this year.
